Black Rock Sands to Llanystumdwy
Day 2 starts with us leaving the Western end of Black Rock Sands passing by a small campsite, climbing gently until we can see the beach and start heading west.

It isn’t long before we have walked maybe 0.5 miles and see Criccieth with its castle on the horizon. When we arrive sandwiches are consumed and later some delicious Cadwaladers Ice Cream. A visit to an art & framing shop results in the purchase of an etching for home. At the return for tomorrow’s ‘walk start’ Forever friend is stricken by love for a piece of ‘Glass Art’ and even more outrageously asks if it can be framed the same day ! Much to her delight and my cynical surprise the shop obliges and we are both absolutely delighted. Here Tis 🙂

We leave Criccieth passing by a colourful street of terraced housing and a van with very attractive side panel. When I stopped to take this photo and started discussing its appeal the owner chirped up behind us and he was obviously pleased at our admiration. A short conversation ensued before we carried on with our walk.

Out of Criccieth and onward across fields until we reach a small river West of Llanystumdwy where it turns us northward till we reach the main ‘A497’ road where we turn right and head back to our accommodation. We will pause, drive back to Black Rock Sands and pick up the ‘start’ car.
Here are a couple of pictures of the river before we ended up on the main road with only a short stretch to reach home.
