Mwnt to Aberporth
Today I am on my ‘todd’ again as I head out to Aberporth. Its Early and ‘Forever Friend’ is my Taxi today. Here is the tiny ‘Mwnt Church’ where I head to the right to join the coast path. Its an immediate ascent and then flat walking for a while.

Mwnt; an obvious landmark now I am a mile or so away and Cardigan Island is clearly visible behind it. Its only 0800Hrs approx and I am melting !

There are a few ups and downs which is making it tough in the heat and several ‘drink stops’ are required. I an in a ‘down’ where the coatal path sign is above top right !

In the shade offered in the gulley and on the footbridge I take a breather and try to cool a little.

I have climbed steadily until I reach the outskirts of Aberporth and on the top here is MOD ABERPORTH with its Radar turning slowly; as do I to start my descent to Aberporth Beach.

I am now in the streets and heading down a substantially long and steep road to the beach where I will join up with ‘Forever friend’ I am glad the climbing is over as its really too warm to be exercising and the steepness of the slope is hurting my knees.

Forever Friend is chatting to a volunteer who is watching out for Dolphins which are regular visitors. I am glad to be stopped and although only 4.5 miles its a bite out of the Wales Coast Apple. I wonder how long it will take me to get to the ‘pips’
