Broughton to Llanmadoc
I’m back at Llangenith walking toward Broughton Caravan Park to start today’s venture from said park; around Whiteford Point and back to Llanmadoc. Its a beautiful day and “Whiteford Sands” stretch out before me inviting a steady stroll to my destination.

On my way to the start , walking the lane from Llangenith a different view of ‘Worms Head’ is to my left.

I am walking an estimated 7.5 miles but from my experience of O.S. mapping and the extra from the bus stop I expect it to be 8 to 8.5 miles. The walking is on firm sand throughout and steadily I head toward Whiteford Point. There is no one about presently and I am enjoying my solitude.

It is a long beach and I can see Llanelli (I Think) on the far side of the Loughour Estuary

At ‘Whiteford Point’ I estimate I am 4 miles in and am hungry. I round the point and take shelter from the wind on the edge of the woodland I have just entered. As I rounded the point two Yorkshire Ladies chatted to me and we shared walk ambitions and O.A.P. aches and pains—They have nearly completed Wales. My ambition to do so leaves some serious walking required!

Lunch Stop at the edge of woodland , my back to the breeze and having a breather, being very careful no to pick up any Ordnance 🙂

Its sloshy in places but nevertheless a beautiful walk with wide views, a National Trust Cabin where I sit on a bench opposite and talk to two groups passing by at different times. I am feeling tired though as I enter the last half mile back to the car. There is one treat in store for me though as yet unknown !

Just before I finish I come across a delightful Cafe at “Cwm Ivy”. It has magnificent views over the estuary but more importantly for me serves tremendous cake and very good coffee. That’s a result and I’m only a few hundred yards from my transport home. What a great end to my day.
