Pennard to Oxwich
Its my ambition before having to stop walking this year to have reached Rhossili which I estimate is about 3 to 4 (of my walks) away. Today its the 18th October 22 as I set out from Pennard to reach Oxwich Bay.
Buses can be a pain and waste an awful lot of time, so today ‘Forever Friend has dropped me at ‘Foxhole’ (Pennard) and driven back to Oxwich to await my arrival later. I am on the flat moorland walking west when I meet the same Lady I met with her Brother at Pwll Du Beach last week. I am embaressed not to recognise her immediately. She lets me down gently. She is also very different in her body language and chats much more easily than the week before.

Pennard Burrow is and undulating and sandy Landscape and not without some fairly steep slippery , sandy , slopes.

After climbing that; there is a seat with a great view and an unusual carving. I rest a while; take a sandwich and drink before starting my descent to ‘Pennard Pill’ which is a river crossing with stepping stones.

I am slowly descending to ‘Pennard Pill’ but as I walk across ‘Pennard Burrows’ – I get distracted and wander off course to get a picture of Pennard Castle. Re-aligning myself I descend to the inlet where I already know there are crossing stones BUT the tide is coming in. Am I going to sit for a few hours or get across ?

I am in plenty of time even after having a 15 minute chat with two ladies coming in the other direction. I remember they made me laugh and we all had quite a giggle together. Definitely “Solace For The Soul” the title of my Journal. I should mention that ‘Three Cliffs Bay’ is stunning too.

I have crossed and there are hilly parts ahead. I take a picture which turns out almost ‘magical’ in its beauty. I don’t know how I did that , its luck, chance or sheer good timing. I love it !

Now I have crossed the stream I am walking through sunlit woodland and making my ascent the other side for a stunning view of where I have just come from.
