Kidwelly to Ferryside

The day is a little grey and foreboding as we, that is me and Miss ‘M’ set off from Kidwelly. The path is across fields with the river below us and a considerable distance away, so its not exactly inspiring but we trudge along chatting and enjoying each others company.

The day is interspersed with ‘squally’ showers and has us climbing slowly ever upward till we can see ferryside in the distance.

Just before we descend the ridge toward Ferryside we come across an electrified quadrangle filled with cattle blocking our exit from our current position into the nect field via a clearly marked stile and the pembrokeshire coast path signage. Miss M was very apprehensive as we climbed under the electric fence and headed toward the stile. I was less bothered having grown up on my Uncle’s farm and moved cattle onward in the past. Not particularly social of the local farmer !

A few Pictures

We enter Ferryside a mere five and a half miles from our start. Walking into the vilage we cross the railways line, sit down and have our lunch next to the river. At last we are close to the coast 🙂
