St Brides to Broadhaven
Today’s jaunt is number 6 bringing me nearer to ‘Home’ territory as in ‘when I was a boy living by my Uncle’s farm’ in North Pembrokeshire. Broad Haven is my destination and I will be walking from St Bride’s to get there. It’s a beautiful day and the ever reliable ‘shuttle’ service picks me up as planned. It’s a nice steady walk with no climbs to speak of and people are already out an about ‘doing their thing’, like these sea canoeists from a Yorkshire club.

Wally of course isn’t another tourist on jet ski, but our touring Pembrokeshire Walrus seen in and around Tenby. He has taken to making a nuisance of himself, by sunbathing on the R.N.L.I. slipway. As you can Imagine , not an exactly popular move with our life-savers !
As I leave St Brides a clear view of St Brides Castle can be had , now that I am on the opposite side of the bay.

While it is fun for canoeists and me alike this poor soul has to earn his crust, yet he looks ‘senior’ enough to be taking a rest as I ‘snap’ him with my new ‘toy’ from high above. The ‘toy’ of course is my new auto stabilising and very powerful ’Telephoto’ lens, I recently purchased for just such moments.

It is a hot day and I have walked briskly as its been flat and when dressing earlier have over compensated for sea breezes. I am wearing far too many layers! As I approach ‘Broad Haven’. I enter a slice of heaven. It’s cool and fresh and lengthy enough too. Phew ! I do NOT want to exit into the sunshine again.
