Dale to Marloes

Runwayskiln is an unusual name and here at the National Trust Car Park I set off to catch the shuttle back to Dale. About a mile away. I’ve allowed 20 minutes for my walk to the bus.

Having previously walked a portion of St Anne’s head I am cutting across it from Dale after the ‘shuttle’ has dropped me off. My walk starts at ‘Welshman’s Bay’.

I’ve noticed during the planning that there is an old runway here and all that remains is the heavy concrete stretching seward. Soon after I was obliged to step to one side to allow a group of runners to pass. Mad ! Unless your’e mid-life and de-stressing.

A climb or two and a conversation with a young woman ; also running and I arrive at Marloes Sands. Marloes I believe is the result of early settlement by a Danish Community. Its poular as by now the holdaymakers are descending , laden, to the beach.
